FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO GO DEEPER:
3) Please watch one of the following
The body is necessary for social change. How can we move from simply talking or theorizing about the body to practicing new ways of relating? In this workshop, embodied exercises will be explored to develop an awareness of sensation: the language of our bodies that conveys our inner knowing, emotions and meaning making. We will feel into where knowledge in our bodies is produced as well as what embodied consent feels like. We will also consider how consent relates to research in general, as well as broader histories of colonization. We will end by considering how to weave care practices into research so we can shift away from power dynamics associated with extraction and domination.
